The Toronto Public Library’s Kids’Space is a Kids’ focused website for one of the largest Public Library networks in the world.
The Toronto Public Library was looking to create a word-class children’s section for their website that integrated seamlessly with their technical infrastructure, content management system and could be managed by their in-house staff.
Utilizing expertise in design, illustration and writing for children, zinc Roe worked closely with the Toronto Public Library staff to develop a site that incorporates practical information for kids and parents, resources for library and non-library users and fun, educational activities.
zinc Roe created “Dewey”, the loveable identity for the site that is used as a branding tool both on and offline. The site features games for a broad range of ages and zinc Roe Design’s unique Storybuilder technology that allows kids to create and share their own stories as well as send e-cards.
The Toronto Public Library’s Kids’Space has become one of the most popular library sites dedicated to kids. Since launch the site has steadily increased it’s traffic and continues to become more popular with children at rapid pace.
